Search conversions over time

If you use Genstore’s storefront search feature, the Search conversions over time report shows the conversion performance of storefront searches within the selected timeframe, helping you understand how your store converts searches into sales.

Data refresh & distribution

  • Refresh frequency: Data in this report is updated daily, but there may be a delay of 12 to 72 hours.
  • Data structure: The report uses a funnel model, where:
    • Sessions Sessions with clicks
    • Sessions with clicks Sessions with add-to-carts
    • Sessions with add-to-carts Sessions with purchases

You can group data by day, week, or month, and compare performance across different date ranges.

Use this report to

  • Search conversion trends: Analyze how effectively search traffic converts into sales over time.
  • Funnel analysis: Identify bottlenecks in the conversion journey (e.g., high drop-off between clicks and add-to-cart).
  • Optimize search relevance: Use insights to refine search algorithms or product tagging to improve click-through and purchase rates.

Report data fields

The report includes the following columns:

Sessions with add-to-cartVisits where customers clicked a product from search results and added it to their cart.
Sessions with purchaseVisits where customers clicked a product from search results, added it to the cart, and completed a purchase.
Click rate (CTR)Percentage of search sessions that led to product page views.
Add-to-cart ratePercentage of search sessions that resulted in adding a product to the cart.
Purchase ratePercentage of search sessions that converted into purchases.

Example:

  • If 100 sessions performed a search, 40 clicked a product, 20 added it to their cart, and 10 purchased:
    • CTR: 40%
    • Add-to-cart rate: 20% (20/100)
    • Purchase rate: 10% (10/100)
