Marketing automation
Marketing automation is a strategy that automates marketing tasks by collecting and analyzing customer behavior data. Based on predefined rules, it automatically triggers a series of marketing activities, improving both marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
Use cases
You can use automation workflows to meet the following common needs:
- Welcome emails: Automatically send a welcome email and discount information to new users after registration.
- Abandoned checkout reminders: Send an email to customers who enter the checkout page but don’t complete their purchase, encouraging them to finalize the order.
- Browse abandonment: Automatically send product recommendations to customers who browse certain items but don’t make a purchase.
- Birthday greetings: Send birthday wishes or exclusive discounts to customers on their birthday.
- Lifecycle marketing: Send personalized content based on the customer’s lifecycle stage (e.g., new customer discounts, rewards for loyal customers, or win-back campaigns for those at risk of churning).
Quick start with automation workflows
You can quickly create automation workflows on the Marketing -> Marketing automation page:
- Click Create marketing automation.
- Choose a system-provided workflow template (such as welcome emails, abandoned checkout recovery, etc.).
- Customize the workflow’s trigger conditions, checks, and actions based on your business needs.
You can edit, pause, or reactivate each workflow at any time.
Real-time performance tracking
On the Marketing automation page, you can view a real-time overview of your marketing activities, including:
- Sessions: User interactions with the email content.
- Conversion rate: The percentage of users who complete a purchase after receiving the email.
- Order count: The number of orders generated through the automation workflow.
- Sales: The revenue generated by the marketing automation workflow.
The system shows data for the last 30 days by default, but you can customize the time range to continually optimize your marketing performance.
Manage marketing automation workflows
You can view, edit, and manage all workflows in the Marketing -> Marketing automation page. For each workflow, you can check:
- Workflow title
- Last updated time
- Status (active, draft, paused, etc.)
- Sessions, conversion rate, order, and sales
Workflows can be sorted by update time, and you can use the search or filter options to quickly find specific workflows.
Actions
In the workflow list, you can perform the following actions:
- Pause/Activate: Pausing a workflow stops its execution but keeps the data, allowing you to resume it later. Activating a workflow restarts the automation tasks.
- Edit: Enter the workflow editing page to modify the settings and content.
- Delete: Deleting a workflow will prompt a confirmation to prevent accidentally removing an active workflow.
