Store information settings
Before setting up your Genstore store, you need to create a Genstore account and add essential business information.
Create a Genstore account
Visit the Genstore account creation page and enter a valid email and password to start setting up your store.
While you don’t need to complete all details immediately, make sure to add the following:
- Store name and contact information
- Legal business name and company address
- Store time zone
- Default store currency
- Default weight unit
Domain name
When you create a store, the system automatically assigns a unique genmystore.com
domain, such as 1a2b3c4-5.genmystore.com
. This domain is used for logging into the backend and verifying account identity. If you need to connect your Genstore account with third-party apps or services, you may be required to provide this domain as your account ID.
By default, this domain serves as your store’s primary domain. However, you can connect a third-party domain to Genstore to replace the genmystore.com
domain for customer access.
Additionally, merchants can use custom domains. For more details, refer to domains. Note: You only have one opportunity to set a new genmystore.com
domain.
Manage store name and contact information
Your store name will appear on every page of your website. By default, the store name is My Store.
TIP
Changing your store name does not change your default genmystore.com
domain. To modify your store’s domain, visit domain.
Steps
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Store details section, click the pencil icon next to your store name.
- In the Edit profile dialog, update the store name, phone number, and contact email.
- Click Save.
Manage legal business name and business address
Your legal business name and address will appear on your billing information.
Steps
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Store details section, click the pencil icon next to Billing address.
- Enter your legal business name and business address.
- Click Save.
Select store currency
- Log in to the Genstore merchant backend, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Store defaults -> Display currency section, click ... > Change store currency.
- Use the dropdown menu to select a new currency.
- Click Save.
TIP
Changing the store currency only updates the currency unit. Product prices, shipping fees, and other settings remain unchanged. Review and update your pricing accordingly.
Manage the default weight unit for your store
Genstore supports both imperial (e.g., pounds (lb), ounces (oz)) and metric (e.g., kilograms (kg), grams (g)) weight units as the store default. You can set different weight units for specific products later.
Steps
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Store defaults section, select Unit system (imperial or metric), then use the Default weight unit dropdown menu to choose the unit.
Manage store time zone
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Store defaults section, select a new time zone from the Time zone dropdown.
- Click Save.
Manage store brand assets
You can set up brand assets such as your store’s logo, colors, and social media links. These brand elements are shared across sales channels, themes, and apps.
Steps
- Log in to the Genstore merchant admin, navigate to Settings -> Business info.
- In the Brand assets section, click Manage to go to the Brand page for setup. For more details on each setting, see Manage store brand assets.
