Manually create product collections

Creating product collections manually allows you to handpick products to add to a collection, giving you full control over its contents. This is especially useful for curated selections or special collections.

  • Add specific products to the collection manually.
  • Ideal for when you need complete control over the collection, such as with curated or specially planned products.

How to create a manual product collection

  1. Log in to the Genstore merchant admin and go to the Products page -> Collections.
  2. Click the Create product collection button in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter a Title and Description for your collection.
  4. Under Allocation method, select Manual to start adding products.
  5. Search or filter products to select the ones you want to add. You can also delete products in bulk.
    • Sort products by Sales, Alphabetical, Price (high to low), Creation Date, or use drag-and-drop to manually reorder them.
  6. SEO settings:
    • Page title: Default to the collection title. You can edit it. The recommended length is 0–70 characters.
    • Meta description: Default to the collection description. You can edit it. The recommended length is 0–165 characters.
    • URL Handle: Automatically generated with a 255-character limit. You can modify it, and the following conversion rules apply:
      • Remove punctuation and special characters
      • Replace consecutive spaces or underscores with -
      • Replace consecutive - with a single -
      • Convert to lowercase
  7. Your collection will automatically be published on the online store. You can also edit the sales channels to target specific markets.
  8. In the Cover image section, upload an image to represent your collection. You can choose from the resource library, use a link, or upload a local image. Check the image size guidelines for more details.
  9. Click Save to finish creating your product collection.

You can also add a product to a collection when you publish a product or from the product details page.

  1. Log in to the Genstore merchant admin and go to the Products page.
  2. In the product list, click the product you want to add to a collection, then click Edit in the Actions column.
  3. In the Collections section on the right side of the product details page, select one or more existing collections.
  4. Click Save, and the product will be added to the selected collections.

Manage your product collections

Once created, your product collections will appear in the collection list on the Collections page. Here, you can:

  1. Edit collection: Click Edit in the Actions column to update details like the title, description, images, filters, SEO settings, sales channels, and release dates.
  2. Preview collection: Click Preview in the Actions column to see the products included in the collection.
  3. Duplicate collection: Click Duplicate in the Actions column to duplicate the collection. Later, you can adjust the details by editing the collection.
  4. Delete collection: Click Delete in the Actions column to remove the collection. You can also select multiple collections for bulk deletion by checking the boxes next to them.
