Themes

Themes are pre-designed frameworks that define your online store's layout, style, and user interactions. Each theme template is tailored to different industries and product needs, providing a solid foundation for your store design.

A typical template includes:

• Header: Displays your logo, navigation menu, search bar, etc.
• Footer: Contains copyright info, social media links, and additional navigation options.
• Content area: Dynamically shows content based on the page type (e.g., homepage, product page, blog).
• Sidebar (optional): Displays categories, promotions, recommended products, etc.

Using theme templates allows you to quickly build and launch a professional eCommerce website. With extensive customization options, you can adjust elements to align with your brand identity and business goals, creating a unique experience for your customers.

You can install official or third-party templates from the Genstore template store, or customize your store’s template using Genstore’s powerful theme editor.

TIP

You can add up to 20 templates to your store, but only one can be active at a time—that’s the template customers see when they visit your store.

Choose and install a template from the theme store

1. Log in to your Genstore admin dashboard.
2. Click Online Store -> Themes.
3. In the Theme library, click Add theme -> Visit Genstore template store.
4. Browse Genstore template store, using industry tags to find relevant themes.
5. Click on a template to see more details, demos, and user reviews.
6. Once you’ve made your choice, click Install.
7. In the pop-up window, select the store where you want to install the template. It will then be added to that store.

Customize your theme template

Genstore’s theme editor allows you to easily personalize your store’s template without any coding skills. You can adjust the layout and features to perfectly match your brand style and business needs.

• Live preview: See changes in real-time without refreshing the page.
• Multi-device preview: Check how your store looks on desktop, mobile, and tablet.

Left-side panel

Depending on the page you're editing, use the left-side panel to adjust and optimize the design:

• Homepage design: Edit sections and blocks. Sections define the layout, and blocks hold the content.
  • Adjust position: Hover over an option, click the ⋮⋮ icon to move it.
  • Delete sections or blocks: Hover over an option, click the trash bin icon to remove it.
• Theme design: Customize UI elements to match your brand.
  • Style settings: Choose theme colors, light/dark mode, content containers, badges, etc.
  • Logo: Upload your store’s logo and favicon.
  • Design elements: Customize layout, buttons, input fields, animations, dropdowns, and pop-ups.
  • Content display: Adjust product cards, collection cards, blog cards, media files, etc.
  • Social media links: Integrate social media for sharing and engagement.
  • Cart options: Optimize your cart design for a better shopping experience.
• App embedding: Add apps from Genstore or third-party developers to expand your store’s functionality.

Publish your template

Once you're happy with your design, go to Online Store -> Themes -> Theme library, find your chosen template, click Publish, and confirm the action. The template will then be live on your store.

Manage your templates

Genstore makes it easy to manage your templates:

• Duplicate template: Create a copy to test new designs or features safely.
• Delete template: Remove templates you no longer need to keep your library tidy.
• Download template: Save a full copy of a template for backup or migration.
