Market
In Genstore, the Markets feature is your central hub for managing cross-border sales. By creating markets for different countries or regions, you can deliver a localized shopping experience with customized language, currency, pricing, shipping, taxes, and more. This approach helps boost conversion rates, streamline operations, and grow your brand’s global presence.
On the Markets page, you can:
- View the status of active and inactive markets
- Quickly see each market’s performance (sales, conversion rate, order share, etc.)
- Add, activate, or deactivate markets
- Access detailed settings for each market to configure language, pricing, taxes, shipping, and more
Key concepts
- Primary market: The store’s default market. It includes only one country or region and is automatically created when your store is set up. The primary market defines the default settings for language, currency, shipping, taxes, etc. It cannot be deleted but can be replaced.
- Non-primary markets: Markets other than the primary market. These can include one or more countries or regions and are used to support multi-region, multi-language, and multi-currency sales strategies. Each non-primary market can have its own localized settings for language, pricing, shipping, domains, and more.
- Active markets: Markets that are fully configured (e.g., language, domain, shipping, pricing) and available for customers to browse and place orders. Active markets are included in conversion rate, sales, and other performance metrics.
- Inactive markets: Markets that have been created but are not yet enabled due to missing key settings (such as shipping or tax). These markets are not publicly accessible until they are fully set up and activated.
- Countries or regions not included in any market: These locations are not yet covered by any market, so the system won’t display localized content to customers in those regions. You can include them by adding a new market or editing an existing one.
