Create inventory transfer
In modern retail and e-commerce environments, effective inventory management is crucial. Creating an inventory transfer helps businesses efficiently track and receive incoming stock, ensuring smooth supply chain operations. Inventory transfers apply to the movement of stock between store locations (if you have multiple locations), optimizing inventory distribution and reducing the risk of stockouts or excess inventory.
Steps to follow
Log into the Genstore admin panel, click Products -> Transfer, then click Create transfer at the top right of the page. After configuring the following details, click Save as draft to save.
- Shipping location: Select an active shipping location.
- Destination: Select an active destination location.
- Add product: Enter or select the product specifications to be included in the transfer.
- Inventory quantity: After selecting the product, enter the inventory quantity for the corresponding specification.
- Shipping details (optional): Provide the expected shipping date, tracking number, and carrier.
Once created, the inventory transfer record will appear directly in the transfer list on the page. You can view the shipping location, destination, status, received quantity, and estimated shipping date.
The page will automatically categorize the transfer records based on their status. You can filter and view transfers by status or see all transfers. The status descriptions are as follows:

| Pending receipt | Inventory has left the shipping location and is in transit |
| Partial receipt | Only part of the inventory has arrived at the destination |
| Received | Inventory has arrived at the destination and has been received |
Edit inventory transfer
For inventory transfers in Draft status, you can make edits and updates.
Steps to follow
- Log into the Genstore admin panel, click Products -> Transfer.
- Click on the transfer number you wish to update to go to the details page. You can edit the following details. After updating, click Save to save the changes.
- Shipping location: The shipping location can be changed.
- Destination: The destination location can be changed.
- Add products: You can adjust the selected products, remove and re-add them as needed.
- Inventory quantity: You can adjust the inventory quantity for the selected products.
- Shipping information (optional): Provide updated shipping details like the expected shipping date, tracking number, and carrier.
